Goals:
The Library Services of St. Mary’s Academy of San Nicolas aims to develop the students’ skills in maximizing the use of varied and updated library materials that support the curriculum of the school and use these competencies efficiently. It teaches the students to learn effective use of information and prepare them to be life-long learners and readers.
Objectives:
to work hand in hand with the administrators and teachers in building the library collections to provide an adequate and well-balanced resources that support the curriculum of the school;
to promote the efficient use of the library;
to guide the students in the use of suitable materials in different formats;
to teach the students different library skills in the use of the library and its resources; and
to provide cultural experiences and growth, and provide meaningful recreation for the individual and the whole academic community.
Library Resources
St. Mary’s Academy of San Nicolas adapts the Dewey Decimal Classification System. Students and teachers have open access to the books. The library holding is arranged according to Dewey Decimal Classification.
Entrance Monitoring
The library strictly follows the No Library card No Entry Policy. Library user is required to present his/her Library card upon entering the library and will be recorded for the purpose of statistical reports and for monitoring the in and out of the users.
Depository Counter
Library user is obliged to deposit his or her personal belongings except wallets, electronic devices, and other valuable items, at the Depository Counter upon entering the library premises. The counter is located inside the library entrance.

searching by title, author, subject, call number;

Star Books (Digital Library Kiosk)
Star Books is a stand alone, on-site research and formation kiosk that provides free access to information. It contains thousands of digitized science and technology resources in various formats (text and video/audio) placed in specially designed “pods” set in a user-friendly interface.
Computers for Online Research
Students have complete access to net browsing and use the computers during their free time like recess, lunch and dismissal. Computer printing service is also available. First come, first served basis is followed since there are only limited computer units in this section.
Guidance and Testing Center
Rationale:
The most important persons in the school are the student themselves. In order that they may understand themselves fully well and their relationship with the world around them, it is the responsibility of the school to provide them services concerned with their total development.
Goals:
The Guidance and Testing Center develops individuals holistically guided by love of thy self, faith in God and love to other people in the community leading to maximum life-career development. It provides assistance through guiding and helping individual to discover his needs, potentials and goals which is identical with the purpose of education in assisting individuals to choose and develop life goals.
